Matt and Rob retain access to a close network of trusted professionals
These are people who they have worked with before and able to draw upon to provide expertise in business, financial and mathematical modelling, technical architecture, software development and more - when such needs are clearly identified.
However, that vantage point gives him perspective to see that often it makes more sense to get the simple things right first rather than getting distracted by the shiny new thing. Focusing on customer needs; identifying pain points; mapping, measuring and simplifying processes; and reviewing regularly how you can improve are the things that will make the biggest difference to everyday business performance. That's not to say you shouldn't experiment with new stuff too, but just be mindful of how you prioritise budgets and where your best people are focused.
New software can sometimes help, but it’s that curious state of mind and perseverance which will make the biggest impact over time!
