Here at NOREMO we are delighted to publicly announce our next Software partner - Xoots.biz.
Xoots is an AI start-up that’s changing how companies do recruitment and make hiring decisions.
Again, among my opening hypotheses for founding NOREMO a few months ago was an informed scepticism stemming from the GenAI hype we’ve been hearing about for the last 2 years, right from Prime Ministers and the Big Tech barons downwards.
My view is that Private Equity funds and their Portfolio Companies don’t need to be investing in creating their own Generative or other types of AI models per se (unless that’s their particular expertise). Rather they should be focusing their time on getting their business processes, systems architecture and data into shape first. And over the next year or three, there are going to be a whole host of new startups and others using GenAI and novel Machine Learning models built from the ground up to transform a domain that you the Fund or you the Portfolio Company can take advantage of. You’ll be able to make better use of your re-shaped processes and data and accelerate your business faster after these startups have already evolved their products beyond the prototype stage. Why be someone else’s guinea pig and suffer all the pain while they iron out the early kinks in their products?
Well Xoots.biz is one of those startups that’s well worth taking a second look at. Founded by industry veteran Alex Alexander (CIO / CTO / Technology Director at Yoox-Net-a-Porter, Emirates, Walmart Labs, Barclays to name a few). Alex founded Xoots to solve one of the biggest challenges he’s faced at every level of his career; hiring the right people to join the IT teams at the businesses he leads. First of all, how do you find a sufficient number of candidates in a competitive marketplace where niche skills are in hot demand? How do you ensure that the candidates have not entirely fabricated (or only just exaggerated) the contents of their CV? How do you overcome the bias and prejudices of the hiring manager? How do you test whether the candidates are going to be trainable for a domain that they’ve not worked before? How do you do all of those things for a dramatically lower cost and time to hire than ever before?
And it’s not just about hard skills, Xoots uses frameworks like Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence and Myers Briggs to measure soft skills and predict how candidates will behave in a work environment and their emotional fit for the team they are about to join.
And of course recruitment is a challenge not just faced by IT teams but across every function of business. But if you can fix it for the Tech team, then it's probably going to go a long way to improving recruitment for other domains too.
Anyways, at NOREMO we’re delighted to announce this new partnership and please get in touch if you want to find out more about how Xoots can transform your recruitment process.
